JBT Marel READYGo Chopper/Blender skid with integrated drum dumper, access platform and controls.

Information

The JBT Marel READYGo™ Chopper/Blender combines a frozen drum processing system on a single skid. It shaves and chops frozen product into a pumpable slurry containing small frozen particles. A hot-water jacket helps the product flow, while the discharge pump transfers it to the next processing step.

The system includes a full-size Chopper/Blender, drum dumper, steam-heated hot-water set, discharge pump, electrical control panel and clean-in-place components. Integrated safety features control access to the drum dumping area.

Process frozen juice concentrates, single-strength and not-from-concentrate (NFC) fruit juices, pulp, fruit and vegetable purées, beverage bases, and broth or bone broth. We can help evaluate your product, required capacity, available utilities and layout to determine how READYGo fits your production line.

Specifications

  • Throughput: Up to 24 drums per hour. These capacities are based on frozen product prepared with enough thawing around the edges to release the block from its drum and liner. Actual throughput depends on product characteristics, preparation, feeding and downstream capacity. A greater proportion of thawed product may increase throughput.
  • Chopper/Blender tank capacity: 300 US gallons (1,135 liters)
  • Chopper/Blender drive: 5 hp, three-phase motor
  • Construction: Stainless steel product-contact parts; conical tank bottom
  • Discharge: Included positive-displacement product pump
  • Heating: Included steam-heated hot-water set and water-jacket piping
  • Instrumentation: Included level and temperature sensors
  • Cleaning: Included CIP lid and internal cleaning sprays
  • Controls: Included electrical control panel and integrated safety interlocks
  • Site connections include electrical power, steam, water, instrument air, cleaning solution and product piping. Confirm utility requirements and operating clearances during the layout review.

Accessories

Drum staging conveyor

An optional roller-bed conveyor stages drums ahead of the dumper. A forklift places drums on the conveyor, and operators roll them into loading position.

Downstream heat exchanger

For processes requiring fully liquid product, a downstream heat exchanger adds heat after chopping. Selection depends on the product, capacity and required outlet temperature.

Service

Keep drum handling, chopping and product transfer working together with planned maintenance, spare parts and technical support for your READYGo system. Regular inspections and timely replacement of worn components help reduce unplanned downtime and maintain a dependable supply to your next processing step.

FAQ

What is included with the READYGo Chopper/Blender?

The skid includes the Chopper/Blender, drum dumper, steam-heated hot-water set, water-jacket piping, product pump, electrical control panel, level and temperature sensors, and CIP lid and sprays. It also includes an access platform and integrated safety features. Your quotation defines the equipment and services supplied for your project.

Does READYGo fully thaw frozen product?

The Chopper/Blender produces a pumpable slurry that still contains frozen material. Its hot-water jacket helps the product flow. If your process requires fully liquid output, a downstream heat exchanger can be selected for your product and required capacity.

How should frozen drums be prepared?

The product needs to thaw slightly around the edges so the frozen block can slide out of the drum. Preparation time depends on the product, container and thawing conditions. Drum and liner handling procedures should be confirmed for your application before operation.

What does the plant need to provide?

The plant supplies the required utilities, cleaning solution and connections to the next processing step. Installation planning should also cover drum staging, forklift access, drainage and space for operation and maintenance. The integrated skid simplifies equipment integration, but site preparation is still required.

How much space does the system need?

Allow space for the skid, drum staging and the drum dumper’s full movement. Operators also need access to the control panel, utility connections and maintenance areas. JBT Marel can provide a layout for review against your available floor space and ceiling height.

How does READYGo differ from a standalone Chopper/Blender?

READYGo combines the Chopper/Blender and its supporting equipment on one skid. A standalone unit allows loading, heating, pumping and controls to be configured separately. Selection depends on your existing equipment, available space and integration requirements.

Can READYGo process IQF fruit?

Individually quick frozen (IQF) fruit requires an application review. Modifications to the equipment and process may be needed, so it should not be treated as a standard READYGo application. Contact us to evaluate your material, required output and capacity.
