The very first opportunity to weigh what comes into the plant is integrating a SmartWeigher DF in the processing line. Thanks to this early flock weight check, there’s more time to plan production efficiently.

In a killing line equipped with CAS SmoothFlow modified atmosphere stunning, SmartWeigher DF is installed before the automatic killer. In lines where birds are electrically stunned, the system is positioned between the shackling area and the water bath stunner.

SmartWeigher DF installed in the defeathering line is an invaluable tool giving plant management full information on the weight of product entering and leaving the primary process. 

The weight data collected can be used for a variety of purposes. First and foremost, it provides the essential starting point for all subsequent yield measurements and downstream performance checks. In addition, the data can support the evaluation of individual flocks and help monitor grower performance. 

High speed inline

SmartWeigher DF, the inline whole product overhead weigher, is capable of handling the highest speeds, with utmost weighing precision and robustness.

Products stay in their overhead shackles and pass over the weigh bridge with no acceleration or deceleration. The system requires virtually no calibration nor daily attention. Its design is compact, rigid, hygienic and safe.

Early evaluation

Weighing before defeathering provides processors with an early evaluation of the complete product supply, long before their final destination is to be determined. Controlled by PDS, the gathered weight information stays with the shackle until it leaves the chilling tunnel.

Knowing exactly what weight to expect for about 30,000 products in the selection line, production management can match products with incoming orders at a very early stage.
